This policy explains what personal information Wilker Consulting Inc. (“we”, “us”) collects through wilkerconsulting.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
Who we are
Wilker Consulting Inc. is a consulting business based in British Columbia, Canada. You can reach us at brent@wilkerconsulting.com with any question about this policy or about information we hold.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, company name if you provide one, and whatever you write in the message field. We only ask for what we need to reply to you.
Information collected automatically. This site runs on WordPress.com, which records standard technical information about visits — IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and pages viewed. This is used for security and to understand general traffic patterns. We do not use it to identify individual visitors.
Cookies. WordPress.com sets a small number of cookies necessary for the site to function and for basic analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and continue that conversation
- To provide services if we go on to work together
- To keep the site secure and working properly
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We will not add you to a mailing list because you filled in the contact form.
Who else sees it
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf: Automattic (WordPress.com) for website hosting and form delivery, and our email provider for correspondence. These providers are bound by their own privacy obligations. Information may be stored on servers outside Canada, including in the United States, and may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.
We may also disclose information where required by law.
How long we keep it
Contact form submissions are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and then for a reasonable period afterwards in case you get back in touch. Records relating to client work are kept as long as required for business and legal purposes. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, delete it, or stop using it. Email brent@wilkerconsulting.com and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are in Canada and are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. If you are in the UK or European Economic Area, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and we take reasonable steps to protect information from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
This site is intended for business audiences and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be made clear.
